PNM’s proposal to install ELECTRIC smart meters in all of their service areas in NM is being considered now during the Legislative Session underway in Santa Fe at the Roundhouse.

The hearing was 27 February, and there was a small turnout of informed protesting citizens.  Most people do not even know about the proposal which is to PNM’s advantage.  THIS IS A BID DEAL because there are so many disadvantages and no advantages for the citizen. See the 28 February paper for an article on page 7.  We have 3-4 weeks to send emails or letters to NMPRC Commissions urging PNM to drop the opt-out fee which they set at $47.00.

You can simply send an email stating that you are a New Mexico resident, that you don’t want to be forced into having an RF meter, and you also don’t want to be forced into paying a $47 opt-out fee.
